Hay! i started this thing because of the summer mission job i had, but decided to keep writing stuff, especially since a graduated friend says he reads it to see how my life is going. a description? why tell about what i wrote when you can just go ahead and read it. warning: i've got nothing deeply profound or incredibly eloquent, it's just bits of my life.

apologies for slackness

ok, hay, i know its been awhile, sorry. (two people have asked me about this blog today). so, just a short update, and i'll try to do better next term. yes, next term. this winter term is over. many hate winter term here at furman. i personally like it, but i think that is because my winter terms have been my easiest terms here at furman. so, i had my math for non-majors and early Christianity/New testament exams today, and they went fine, just long. i thought that last time i took the SAT was the end of long tests for me. how naive i was. so yeah, in about 5 hours, i will be waking up and beginning my hike to cuernavaca, mexico. it won't all be on foot. im pretty excited, but nervous too. planes aren't what i dream about. My daddy told me on the phone that God said, "LO [LOW], I am with you always." - its this joke we have. meaning that planes are high, and thus God isn't there. but God altered the joke for my assurance tonite by saying that He is still above the plane level of flying, so its still low to Him. I love my daddy.
I hope my bag isn't too heavy. I was afraid that I'd have to leave my teddy behind, but no, that would be against my religion. I just hope he doesn't suffocate with all that other stuff.
Friends and Family are amazing.
Laura Cochran rocks, she volunteered to get up in the early am hours and drive me to the airport. wow, what a servant. One of a kind.
ok, so, ill be in Mexico for the next 10 days, and ill be getting back late sunday/early monday and starting class monday (well, i guess i'll be in class, my mama said i can't be skippin school).
I'm not totally sure what i'll be doing in mexico, so ill have to tell you when i get back. its a service learning trip, and i believe we will serve in some ways and learn about the people and liberation theology. We will be visiting some of the poorest people in the area.
please pray for me and the group if you are of the praying persuasion. it would be greatly appreciated.
also, while you're praying, our bcm is leaving saturday for a mission trip in virginia and pittsburg. there are 10 of them going.
i haven't dropped out of school, i haven't had a hangover, and i haven't gotten engaged. but i'm probably not the same girl that you knew when i last posted on here.
God is good.
love always,
lauren<><

Yay for change. Yay for growth. :) And three cheers for spring break. I'm glad at least one of us got to enjoy winter term. Be safe on your trip, Lauren. I'll see you soon.
